With a flood of personal development books out on the market, from everything from just making your bed to manifesting all the money in the world – WHERE DO YOU START?
You will know I am a devoted reader of Personal Development and Business strategy books, and struggle to read fiction if I’m being honest, and it is with that love of books that I have decided to start doing a monthly Book Haul review for you on the blog and over on my Youtube Channel.
Why read Non-fiction?
Personal Development, working on ourselves in our spare time, is a life changing habit.
You can read all about how you can start your own Personal Development journey here of course.
Each month I also have a Mamafurfur Book Club where I share my personal favourite book of the month ahead, that I have read and loved and you can find this month’s book over here.
Be sure to go check the latest book club selection out, you will love it!
Give yourself 15 minutes to change your mindset
I commit to at least 15 minutes a day or listening to an Audiobook or reading, and truly has changed my life.
If you are not a great reader, I love Audible to be able to pick up great books on the go and turn that car journey into an education experience.
Audible offer between 1 and 3 months free trial (1-3 free books!) depending on if you are a Prime member or not, so the perfect excuse to give audiobooks a go.
You can start your trial through this link, which is an affiliate link below, but I believe in this product so much I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise.

Books I loved this month
You can find all the books I mention on my Amazon Store here
(these links are affiliate which means I receive a small percentage of the cost, this cost goes to keeping my website running and ensure I can keep doing what I love. Thank you for your support with this!)
Everything you need you have by Gerad Kite
Gerad Kite shows us how to look at things from a different perspective, and to uncover the truth: that everything we need to be happy and well, we already have inside.
Using a lot of thoughts and principles from Chinese ancient texts, I thoroughly enjoyed this book for the first time this Christmas particularly learning about how my body works best at certain times of the day and then applies those to the key areas of my life that matter the most.
It guides you through how to know what truly makes you happy, within yourself, and how we can remain mindful of our true happiness even when the world wants us to be distracted as much as possible.
7 Strategies for Wealth and Happiness by Jim Rohn
Jim Rohn was the mentor for Tony Robbins, and if I’m being honest the kind of grandfather or teacher every should have in their life.
You don’t have to choose between wealth and happiness–they spring from the same fountain of abundance.
With this book, you will discover the seven essential strategies you need for success and in such a straight talking, funny and real life way that anyone can apply right away.
Sharing timeless wisdom, humour and knowledge – another book I return to every time I need to focus on the everlasting principles of happiness and time freedom.
The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama
In this unique and important book, one of the world’s great spiritual leaders offers his practical wisdom and advice on how we can overcome everyday human problems and achieve lasting happiness.
Haven’t never read this book before, it was given to me by my Mother this Christmas 2018 and from the first few pages I knew I would love it.
Fundamentally teaching us what it means to live a happy, content life helping others and ourselves – this book is wonderful if you are ready for deeper meaning and focus for your life and aim for more than just what the world outside teaches us.
A classic to many, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to love it for the first time.
A book I’m sure to return to time and time again.
I will teach you to be Rich by Ramit Sethi
This book is the first personal finance book I ever read, and still love to this day.
This month I repeated a number of books that had a profound affect on me over the past few years, and this was one of them. It is a practical approach delivered with a non-judgemental style based on the four pillars of personal finance – banking, saving, budgeting and investing – and the wealth-building ideas of personal entrepreneurship.
Broken down into six weeks of effort for the reader, it holds your hand and leads you to a better financial future step by step – and even better has been redesigned for the UK audience and terminology.
This was the first book that taught me all about the power of compound interest and investing, and how absolutely anyone can and should invest for their future.
Pick this book up and you will not regret it!
