We adore our @n_t_s National Trust for Scotland family membership and use it regularly throughout the seasons to allow our family to enjoy the wonder and beauty of great properties and grounds in Scotland.

The NTS also thinks and caters for families in great detail, and every season there is a wide range of free and paying events to attend – and one of our personal favourites to set the children’s faces a-glow is the annual Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunts that many NTS properties hold each Easter weekend.

This year, we were lucky enough to be blessed with great weather and even better Greenbank Gardens (situated in the south side of Glasgow) for our chosen Easter Egg Hunt.

To say this event is popular is an understatement – with the event running each day from 11am till 4pm roughly; the car park was full from the very start.  For the small additional charge of £2 per child (to cover the cost of the prize at the end for each child) you follow the “bunny clues” around the gardens to find the mystery word and gain a prize.

We took our 2yr old toddler, 3yr old nephew and 5yr old niece along – along with some grown ups – and all had a wonderful time following the trail. We then could have easily filled another few hours simply wandering around the walks and gardens on offer in the sunshine, enough to tire out even the most adventurous toddler!

Another great morning out exploring the countryside and enjoying the fresh air – with the bonus of a chocolate treat at the end.  Another National Trust for Scotland family membership well used that day!

Love MFF xx
