MamaFurfur: My year in review 2014

December 31st rolls on again, and with old age you get a sense of reflection as each Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve for non-Scottish folks) comes along.

I always look forward to the start of a New Year as it is always exciting to think and dream about what lies ahead.  Some people don’t like thinking about another year passes them by, but what is there really not to like?  You have survived another year!  You have achieved things, regardless of whether you believe you have or not.  You have grown in character through all those 365 days experiences, and you lived to tell the tale!

New Year Eve shouldn’t be filled with sadness or regrets and I think that is why a lot of people end up making daft goals for the next year so they don’t feel like a failure again next time round.  Truth is that you choose all the experiences and decisions in your life, whether you want to take accountability for them or not, so that was the best you could do at the time (outside obviously of nature forcing your experiences).

This New Year’s Eve I give thanks for what I have achieved or experienced this year, as it has made me a better more rounded person.  I have learnt a lot about myself in the process and glad of where I stand today.

This year brought me and my family:

A little dude who has learnt to talk and walk, and who is a little firecracker of his own

Returning back to work after Maternity leave and changes in routine for that

Unemployment….twice

One pregnancy, although ended up only for a short time

Starting this Blog as a way to express and share life’s journey

Getting to the Gym seriously

Completing a 5K run (more to come this year I’m sure)

Two holidays abroad

Visits to see and visits with loved ones

Home improvements to our wonderful family home

Good health for all (outside of a month for me due to ectopic)

Smiles and Laughter

and Lots of Love……

If 2015 ends up being half as busy and action packed as 2014 was – then I need more sleep for sure – but I can hardly wait!

No doubt my 2015 Goals blog post will appear very soon as I already start to mentally make notes on challenges for myself, but always remember you are far stronger and capable than sometimes we allow ourselves to believe.

Let 2015 rock your world!

Love MFF xx
